Growing up, one of our co-founders, Nicoleta, spent countless hours in her mother’s painting studio. Surrounded by canvases, brushes and the quiet rhythm of works taking shape, art was never something distant or reserved for galleries. It was part of everyday life.

Her mother was a painter, and through her, Nicoleta learned that every artwork carries something deeply personal: a memory, an emotion, a point of view and a piece of the artist who created it.

After her mother passed away, that connection to art took on an even deeper meaning. It became part of the inspiration behind OnlineArtz: a desire to help artists preserve their stories, share their work with confidence and find the audience it deserves.

That personal connection became the emotional foundation of the platform.

OnlineArtz has its roots in OnlineArts.ro, a Romanian platform created to give local artists a dedicated space to present and sell their work online.

At a time when many independent artists had limited access to digital tools, OnlineArts.ro offered them a personal gallery where they could introduce themselves, showcase their practice and connect directly with people interested in original art.

The platform began with Romanian painters and gradually opened its doors to sculptors, photographers, traditional artists and contemporary makers. It became more than a place to list artworks. It became a space where artists could communicate who they were, how they worked and what inspired them.

That first community showed us something important: people were not only looking for something beautiful to place on a wall. They wanted to understand the person, process and story behind the work.

OnlineArtz is shaped by three founders who bring together art, technology and the structure needed to turn an idea into something real.

Nicoleta carries the creative vision and the personal story at the heart of the platform. Her connection to art began in her mother’s studio and continues through her work in building a space where independent artists can be seen, understood and valued.

Santosh is the artist of the code the technical mind transforming that vision into a thoughtful digital experience. He builds the systems behind the platform with the same attention an artist gives to composition, form and detail, ensuring the technology remains intuitive and allows the artwork to take centre stage.

And then there is Kat, the architect of momentum, keeping the vision grounded, the details organised and the rest of us firmly on track. She brings clarity to the creative process, connects every moving part and makes sure that ideas do not remain ideas for very long.

Together, we combine personal experience, creative thinking, technical craft and the art of execution. Different perspectives, one shared belief: original art deserves a better home online.

Today, the original vision of OnlineArts.ro has evolved into OnlineArtz.com a curated marketplace connecting independent artists with collectors across Europe and, increasingly, beyond.

The new platform is not a departure from where we began. It is a continuation of it.

OnlineArtz.com brings the spirit of the original Romanian community into a more refined, international and accessible space. Artists can present their work directly from their studios, shape their own profiles, choose where they sell and connect with collectors looking for something authentic and one of a kind.

For collectors, it offers a more considered way to discover art. Not through endless, anonymous listings, but through curated collections, distinct artistic voices and the stories behind the works.
